SimAnimals will be released for the Nintendo Wii on January 21st.

In a press release of Nov. 20th 2008 issued by Electronic Arts about the music of the SimAnimals game, the score was described as follows: “Your journey through the forest is comprised of many small musical moments that combine as the soundtrack. Each location starts off with a unique score, from strains of Celtic music for ancient castle ruins to the funky groove of the old junkyard. Small melodies of solo orchestra instruments underscore the big events of the animals’ lives and fully orchestrated moments define the player’s choices in the world. The music is designed to ground the complexities of the animal’s life in the human scale of emotions. As the fortunes of the world reflect the player’s interactions and creative, fun and mischievous choices, the music gives voice to a forest rejoicing or suffering. When the individual animals are in distress due to neglect, the music calls out, and during moments of pure happiness, like the arrival of a new born, the music shares the tender warmth."

Developer Testimonials

Mark Yeend, Sound and Music Manager of the "Shrek the Third" game:

"Our project was under a very tight deadline, and Winifred delivered high-quality orchestral compositions faster than any composer I've worked with.  She sustained a breakneck pace until the project was complete, and her music was always exactly what we asked for.  Her music definitely improved our game, setting a distinct tone for each game area.  With almost no re-writes, Winifred's compositions pleased our team, our publisher, and the IP holder on top of that!  Winifred is one of the most consistent professionals I've worked with."

Aaron Gray, Associate Producer of the "Shrek the Third" game:

"Winifred Phillips was a natural fit for this project!  The music she created fit seamlessly into the game and played a vital role in helping create the perfect atmosphere of the Shrek® universe."

"GO MARIO!" GETS GREAT REVIEWS!

Winifred's tribute track has received great reviews from The Oklahoman, ScoreNotes.com, The Adrenaline Vault, Music4Games.net and the QJ Network! The track, "Go Mario!

(Super Mario Bros)", was produced by Winnie Waldron, and is a part of the all-new compilation album "The Best of the Best: A Tribute to Game Music".

Pasya of Game-OST wrote, "The theme from Super Mario Bros., the legendary game melody of all times from the other Japanese composer Koji Kondo, seemed to be impossible to be remade in an off-beat way but an American lady Winifred Phillips succeeded in it. In many ways her own voice funnily mixed with the original sound effects helped her. No doubt, "Go Mario!" is one of the sunshiniest songs of the collection and it’s a great catch for Mario’s fans."

Matthew Price of The Oklahoman wrote, "Winifred Phillips' "Go Mario!" is a peppy take on "Super Mario Brothers" with electronic sound effects and zippy vocals. "Go Mario!" could be a club hit in the right hands and will make gamers want to fire up their Nintendos."

Tom Hoover of GameNotes.com called the "Best of the Best" album "a fantastic release" from a "pantheon of talented game composers", and went on to call Winifred's track "a vivid musical interpretation" and "a lot of fun to listen to!" In another review of the "Best of the Best" album, Jayson Napolitano of Music4Games singled out "Go Mario!" for praise, calling it "a really fun track!" G. Scott Taulbee of The Adrenaline Vault said Winifred's tribute track "cleverly mixes a cappella voices with sound effects from the games, which never fails to elicit smiles from listeners!".

Ceasar S of Quick Journal wrote, "The track sports a catchy tune of the lovable Mario theme song, accomplished in an a-capella fashion featuring her own voice.   The result: it's a multi-tracked, a-capella piece adorned with classic video game sound effects to create an orchestral feel, but still amazingly faithful to the original NES version.” Click here for a sound clip of "Go Mario! (Super Mario Bros)". Click here to buy the track "Go Mario!" on iTunes
